Our friend Gene has now been retired for a week. He has been busy on the “Honey DO” list. Gene even recruited Don to help with shelves in his garage. They say that if you want to stay healthy, you should stay busy after you retire. Marci is making sure Gene will stay healthy! We are starting a pool, put in $5.00 and pick the date when Gene goes back to work. The person closest to the date wins the pot!

Don has been busy with his art classes, golf and doing our taxes. He is also working on David’s taxes, complicated this year because he moved to Kentucky. Don has be doing research for the Wednesday night bible study. We are studying the Book of Daniel. Don seems to have caught a bug this week, but is on the mend.

Luetta has two quilts she made that she is now sewing on the binding; this will take about 5+ hours per quilt. She is also cutting material for two more Project Linus quilts. Of course there are the sewing classes, always another sewing class. After so many classes she has to be the smartest sewer in Florida. Friday she made an outstanding dinner for Gene, Marci, Ron and Oleta.

We both stay so busy that is seems a week is only 3 days long, time just flies!

A couple of days we had some rain, it has been so dry here we really need all the rain we can get. The weather in Florida is different than Indiana, it can rain for two hours and an hour later you never know it. We sure enjoy the warm days here. Every day we look at the temperatures back in Indiana and know that we are truly blessed to be able to spend the winters here.

Maggie makes news

Maggie was in the local newspaper, the picture was take while she was at the groomers. Looks like she is posing for the camera!

Cabin Row

When our retired pastor Roy and his wife Fern visited us in January, they showed Don a picture of the place where they lived when they were married. This is Don's drawing of this place. It was the married quarters (Cabin Row) at the Bible Collage that Roy attended. Consisted of two rooms, the bedroom was in the kitchen. We plan to frame the picture and give it to Roy and Fern when we return to Indiana.
